Portland Public Schools (PPS) supports teachers as sustainability leaders by providing professional development, classroom resources, and guidance for implementing climate and justice-focused projects such as tree planting, food waste reduction, or green clubs. Educators can access lesson plans and activities for all grade levels, as well as climate and social justice materials, curated book lists, outdoor learning resources, and multimedia content from local and national partners. PPS also offers guidance on recycling and waste reduction, as well as a collaborative Teach Climate Justice platform with CLEAR Environmental, which shares teaching tools, community resources, and equity-focused approaches to climate education.
